Paramedicine Standards of Practice

The Standards were developed through extensive national consultation. They promote consistency in measuring registrant performance across Nova Scotia. In addition to meeting the requirements of each Standard, registrants must follow all applicable legislation and regulations, including practising within the scope of practice for their licence category.

Inquiries: Please note that the Regulator is unable and will not respond to inquiries related to paramedicine employers, educational institutions, unions, associations, or COPR processes and applications. Regulator staff are able to address matters that fall within NSRoPs regulatory mandate.

Pre-approved International Jurisdiction Pathway

The Nova Scotia Regulator of Paramedicine (NSRoP) is seeking feedback on Registration and Licensing Policy 213.0 – Conditional Licensing of Applicants Eligible for the Pre-approved International Jurisdiction Pathway, formerly the Expedited Pathway for International Applicants. The pathway was developed to support the registration and licensing of qualified international paramedicine practitioners from approved jurisdictions while maintaining appropriate public protection safeguards.
